'Davy Crockett' King of the Wild Frontier Mini TV series about the life and times of the frontiersman, from his days as an Indian-fighter to the stand at the Alamo, led to Crockett-mania. Walt Disney subsequently claimed that Davy Crockett was the cause of the TV western stampede of the fifties. Co-starred Buddy Ebsen as George Russel. |
