CD REVIEW – DVORAK - Symphony No. 9 in E minor (from The New World) OP 95
and American Suite Op 98b
Bamberg Symphony Orchestra / Robin Ticciati       TUDOR 7194 67’ 13”

Anyone looking for an outstanding version of Dvorak's popular last symphony 'From the New World' in state-of-the-art sound - this is a super audio CD - need look no further.

Ticciati is presently principal conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and here inspires the Bambergers to achieve a beautifully atmospheric and fully satisfying account with Ticciati properly observing the important first movement exposition repeat.

This issue is further enhanced by the appropriate coupling - the delectable American Suite-equisite and irresistable quality light music imbued with much charm and grace.

A new volume release which deserves the widest circulation.
