Bowie's Beckenham Oddity - August 2018
L to R David Cousins (The Strawbs), Tony Visconti and Ray Stevenson (photographer)
Once again at the Bowie Bandstand 49 years after the Growth Summer Festival first brought them all together
This year's Bowie's Beckenham Oddity has raised £11,020 for the bandstand restoration and plaque fund.
We'd like to thank everyone for their continued support for not only the cause but for the event itself.
The festival saw young and old celebrating musical history in the park, which is always a pleasure to witness.

The event also saw visits from David Bowie's friend, as well as record producer, Tony Visconti; Woody Woodmansey, Bowie's drummer in The Spiders From Mars band; David Cousins from The Strawbs and Ray Stevenson (one of the photographers from the Growth Festival of 1969).

We will see the return of some of these people at our next event in 2019 which will celebrate 50 years since the original festival that David Bowie organised.
